### Definition

A **Document** is a file that you want to get signed by recipients. A document can be added to an envelope to be signed by recipients. The document can be in various formats such as PDF, Word, Excel, etc.

After signing is completed you can download a specific signed document from an envelope using <a href="/api-reference/endpoints/signplus/get-envelope-signed-document" target="_blank">GET /v2/envelope/\{envelope\_id}/signed\_documents/\{document\_id}</a>.
